Chapter one · Our story
From a Zoom classroom in 2020 to an anniversary proposal in 2026—and onward to São Paulo.
It began in 2020
At a time when people could barely leave their homes, one online Ethics class made room for a connection neither of us expected.
Class conversations became regular Zoom calls. Before long, our debates and weekly check-ins had grown into a friendship that would shape the years ahead.
2020 · The first chapter
Our connection took shape through ethical debates, weekly conversations, and our first case competition. There was Jason’s 21st birthday at a cookie bar, then a first date at Disney Springs—where we both tried beer for the first time.
A sequence of firsts in an anything-but-ordinary year.
The college years
During college we became best friends and found a shared circle of people we loved. We wandered through museums, followed food trucks, and made memories at Phillies games.
Friendship became the foundation for everything that followed.
Distance & return · 2023
Carolina graduated early and began working at Amazon. Jason studied abroad in Rome. When he returned for college graduation, the friendship we had built over the years began to feel like something more.
Sometimes distance makes the shape of home easier to see.
June 10, 2023
After dinner at Fogo de Chão and Carolina meeting Jason’s family, we finally talked about the relationship that had grown from years of friendship. June 10 became our official anniversary.
A new name for a connection that already felt deeply familiar.
2023—2026
Over the next three years we traveled side by side: a Bahamas cruise, Europe, Brazil, and visits to places connected to Carolina’s upbringing.
Every journey added another place to our shared map.
June 10, 2026
On our third anniversary, we returned to the restaurant connected to the beginning of our romantic relationship. Jason proposed. Carolina said yes.
Three years together. Six years of knowing. One very easy answer.
The next chapter
We are inviting our friends and family to celebrate our marriage in the city that connects so much of our story.
